Chipotle Salsa
I love salsa and especially when it's freshly made. Here's a wonderful Chipotle Salsa recipe that is easy to make and delicious to eat. What is chipotle you ask? It's a dried, smoked jalapeno chile. It has a distinctive smoky flavor that makes it popular for spicing up Mexican and Southwestern recipes. Chipotle chiles are sold in cans in a vinegary-like sauce called adobo. It's also sold in a dried version. You are likely to find it in most of the large supermarkets, but for an authentic chipotle, your Latin-American markets will be your best bet. This salsa recips is Ia nice change from your average, store-bought version of salsa. With it's inherent smoky flavor, it's a winner for anytime you are serving chips and dip. What you'll need: - 3 cups of tomato (chopped) - 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro (chopped) - 3 Tablespoons lime juice - 1 1/2 Tablespoons of chipotle chiles in adobo (chopped) - 1 1/2 teaspoons of cumin (ground) - salt and pepper (to taste) It's as simple as this - combine all the above ingredients in medium sized bowl. Season with salt and pepper and chill before serving. Delicious! Enjoy with homemade tortilla chips. Visit our Chips and Dips page for even more great ideas!
