Cowboy Kabobs are perfect for grilling or broiling. And if you have a grill master in your house, he or she will love this simple appetizer recipe. So tasty and so easy to make! This is a favorite around our household. I can make up the kabobs ahead of time and then hubby-o-mine grills them when he gets good and hungry! Great as an easy appetizer or as a main course. Make more than you'll think you'll need!
What you'll need:
- 18 wooden skewers (10 inch)
- 1/3 cup A.1. Original Steak Sauce
- 1/3 cup Barbecue Sauce
- 2 tsp. Horseradish
- 1 beef top round steak (1-1/2 lb.),
cut into 1/2-inch strips
- 9 pearl onions
- 1 large red or green pepper, cut into 9 strips
What to do:
SOAK skewers in water for at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile, mix steak sauce, barbecue sauce and horseradish until well blended; set aside.
THREAD steak strips onto skewers; place an onion or pepper strip on the end of each skewer. Place kabobs in shallow glass dish. Pour steak sauce mixture evenly over kabobs; cover. Refrigerate 1 hour, turning occasionally.
PREHEAT grill to medium heat. Remove kabobs from marinade; discard marinade. Grill kabobs 4 to 6 minutes or until steak is cooked through, turning occasionally.
Yum.
Here's a quick tip: If you don't want to mess with the BBQ, simply broil the kabobs 4 to 6 inches from heat 4 to 6 minutes or until cooked through, turning occasionally. This simple appetizer makes 6 servings of 3 kabobs each.
Nutrition Bonus: Serve up these colorful kabobs tonight! They are rich in vitamin C from the red pepper, a good source of iron from the beef and contain vitamin A from the red pepper.
