Appetizer or Dessert?
This Pecan Brie Appetizer is so good, that you might want to save it for your dessert instead of using it as an easy appetizer. I don't know why exactly, but the combination of the strong flavor of Brie and the sweetness of sugar is always a winner.
However, this recipe works GREAT as an appetizer too. Next time you are looking for something a little different to serve as a party starter, try this. It's so easy you won't believe it.
What you'll need:
- 1 (2 1/2 lb.) round of Brie cheese (fully ripened)
- 2/3 cup of pecans (coarsely chopped)
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
What to do:
First, remove the rind from the top of the cheese by cutting to within 1/4-inch of the outside edges. Next, place the Brie cheese on an ungreased baking sheet and sprinkle the chopped pecans over on the top. Then, sprinkle with sugar.
All you need to do next is broil it about 8 inches from the heat for 3-5 minutes or until sugar and cheese are bubbling. Serve right away and serve it hot with crackers. That's it! How easy was that?
Watch your guests swoon with delight when they try this yummy easy appetizer recipe.
