Spicy Peanut Sauce
If you love the taste of peanuts, you'll love this spicy peanut sauce. It goes well with seafood or thai-type dishes, but especially with shrimp! It's an easy recipe that you'll want to make again and again.
What you'll need: - 1 cup fresh smooth peanut butter - 1/2 cup hot water - 2 cloves garlic (finely minced and mashed) - 2 Tablespoon soy sauce - 1 teaspoon ground cumin - 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder - 1/2 teaspoon curry powder - 1 teaspoon lemon juice (fresh is preferred) PUt all the ingredients listed above in a blender or food processor and mix gently. Then, whisk all the ingredients together to form a smooth paste. Cover and set aside for several hours to allow the flavors to mix well. The nice part of making this easy recipe is you can store the sauce in jars and store in the refrigerator for longer than mosts sauces (basically, indefinitely!). Just pull it out and let it warm up to room temperature before serving. If you like it to be warmer than room temperature, heat the peanut sauce in the microwave or over the stove briefly. Another quick tip is if you like your peanut sauce a little less spicy than this recipe calls for, leave out the cayenne pepper or reduce the amount. You can adjust the consistency by adding or decreasing the water. For more great sauce recipes, visit our Dipping Sauces page.
